THIS IS 2.5 – 3 HOURS A WEEK ON SUNDAY MORNING.
Do you enjoy working with children?
Lynwood Friends Church has an opening for a nursery worker to provide attentive, nurturing care to children while their parents are attending Sunday morning worship or other functions at church. The goal of this position is to provide consistency in the nursery so that children are comfortable being away from their parents. This person may also support our pre-k volunteers during worship/class. You will care for children 0-5 years of age. You will also communicate with parents as they drop off and pick up their children, and straighten the room at the end of the shift.
All applicants must meet the following requirements and duties:
- Be able to pass a background check
- Ability to lift and carry infants/children up to 25 lbs., to move around as necessary to care for/play with children and ensure their safety
- Love of young children and understanding of their behavior and development
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally with children and parents
- Follow and adjust to changing COVID related health considerations
- Cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing all toys and nursery room before leaving
- Holding or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, play and prayer
- Honor LFC’s mission and statement of faith (can be found on our website)
CPR training is a plus but not required. The church will provide Safeguarding Children training.
