Advent Calendar – Day 2

Advent 2021, a walk in the Promises of God.

So many things can move us, speak to us, challenge us.  Today’s sharing come from Penny.

These are two Christmas paintings from two different nations. What elements make them Christmas themed? How are they the same? How are they different? Is there anything surprising in either painting? Spend some time thinking about what the artist is saying about Jesus. What are they saying about Christmas?

Can you match the artist and nation to the painting?

Woonbo Kim Ki-chang, 1952 Korea

Greg Weatherby, 1990, Australia Aboriginal

Thanks, Penny! Really interesting. These remind me of a Christmas song, “Some Children See Him”.

I find the Australian one thought provoking; it is different from our usual artistic portrayal.

I agree with Naomi! They do remind me of the song, “Some people see Him”
I believe it is Korea on top and Australian on the bottom.
