Advent 2021, a walk in the Promises of God.
Once again Penny brings us the power of art….
Sometimes we see something which is shocking. We say to ourselves, “This is not a Christmas picture. This is wrong.” What makes both of these paintings Christmas pictures? Does either one seem shocking or surprising? How do you feel about these paintings? Does one seem happier than the other? Spend some time thinking about our ideas of Jesus’s birth. How does that relate to our time and our experiences?
Can you match the artist and the painting?

This was very interesting and thought provoking. The bottom one triggered thoughts about what I bring to our Savior to use in His ministry to others. I pray God will enable me to use me to reach out to others and show them God’s love.
I believe I was able to pick the right artist with their paintings. The top one I believe is the one from Thailand and the other from the USA.
Thank you Penny for this thought provoking Advent lesson.

I have looked at the USA painting often. Why does the artist have Joseph out digging in the garden? I just noticed this morning that the bed with Mary and baby is in the shape of a coffin. This painting has both happy and sad elements.

Your right, Penny, the more I look at the art work, the more I see significant messages.
